no IV tomorrow

Hey friends,

Since the University is closed, obviously we will not have IV tomorrow. Our speaker schedule will remain as we handed it out. If you were planning on sharing about Urbana or your Winter Break this week, then please let me know if you would still like to share about it. We'll make room for 1-2 students in the coming weeks to share for about 5 minutes.

URBAN PLUNGE!

Hi everyone!
I hope everyone enjoyed their delay today - I get the entire day off because of my teaching in the elementary schools!!

Anyhoo... I want to remind you all that there is an awesome opportunity for this spring break - the URBAN PLUNGE! I went on the Plunge for my sophomore and junior years and it was probably one of my favorite things that I have done with IV.

Description: We took about 6 days to live in community (a very close one, at that) in Anacostia (SE Washington DC), serve different non-profits and organizations down there and learn about God's heart for injustice through prayer, musical worship, His Word and through experience. For me, I got a lot of opportunity to work with the urban youth, which is an area that God has really put on my heart to serve and work with.

Please pray about this opportunity - the deadline for sign-up for the Plunge at a price of $90 is Feb. 12 - you can put down a $10 if you feel like this is for you! After Feb. 12, the price will go up, as we know IV enjoys doing.

IV News by Rob Walker: LG tomorrows!!!

Hey yall!
I'm keeping this short and sweet :)

1.) Through some silly room reservation issue, Large Group is in the room next door to last week's room. You'll see your friends congregating and hear music so don't fret with the room number. 7:15pm for chitchat hangout and 7:30pm start!

2.) We'll be talking tomorrow night about the upcoming Spring retreat called ADVANCE!!! All registration is ONLINE this year. There will be a laptop station at LG tomorrow to register if you so choose! So bring your credit/debit card info for registration, or go to the above website and do it on your own :) GET PUMPED! SPRING RETREAT IS BOSS.

3.) Next week's LG (2/9), we will have sharing about our winter break experiences, especially highlighting those of our community that went to the Urbana conference. However, if you didn't go and still wanna share something God showed you or did over break/recently, email me at rwalk101@umd so we can make sure you are on the schedule. We will also have a short open mic time for anyone else!

4.) Don't miss LG tomorrow on account of the season premiere of LOST... that's silly!!! Plus, our good pal Roberto is DVRing it, so those who want to watch Lost in its entirety can go to his house after LG tomorrow and enjoy the final season premiere!
